The Big 3 Tour

The published itinerary allows around 90 minutes at
each coastal stop and an hour at Corfe, making this
a good choice when time to explore matters more than
adding extra stops.

The Dorset Tours approach
Dorset is more than a list of photo stops. The ruined
castle above Corfe village, the folded coastline at
Lulworth and the sweep of Chesil Beach each have a
different story.
Our local guides help you make sense of what you are
seeing. On guided tours, an introduction to each location
is followed by time to explore independently. You can
listen, ask questions and then enjoy the stop in your
own way.
Travelling in a small group makes it easier to get to
know your guide and fellow guests. We take care of the
driving between stops, so you can enjoy the scenery
without planning the route or finding your own parking.
Plan your day
The three tours above depart from Weymouth Train
Station car park, postcode DT4 7BN. Check your
selected tour and booking confirmation for the
departure time. If you are arriving by train,
allow time to reach the meeting point before
the tour leaves.
For Portland cruise excursions, our meeting point
is Portland Castle. Take the free blue shuttle
from the port; the journey is approximately three
minutes. Our
cruise meeting-point guide
explains how to find us.
Durdle Door involves uneven paths, slopes and steps
if you choose to head down towards the beach.
Lulworth Cove and Corfe Castle also offer different
amounts of walking depending on what you explore.
Wear comfortable shoes and tell us about any mobility
concerns before booking so we can advise on a
suitable tour.
Bring comfortable footwear, a weatherproof layer,
your camera and spending money for food or optional
attractions. Check your tour’s inclusions before
travelling: lunch and entrance tickets are not
automatically included. Our
tour FAQs
cover more of the practical details.
Your own group, your own plans
If you want the vehicle to yourselves, a different
departure time or an itinerary built around your
interests, ask about a private tour. It is a useful
option for families, friends and cruise parties who
want to plan their day together.
Sally, our Tour Coordinator, can help turn your ideas
into an achievable route. Tell us your date, group
size, where you are staying or which ship you are
arriving on, and the places you most want to see.
Before you book
The Big 3, Jurassic Coast Discovery and Jurassic
Spectacular tours featured above each advertise a
maximum of eight guests. Other Dorset Tours experiences
have different capacities, so check the individual
listing rather than assuming every tour uses the
same group size.
Choose the Big 3 if Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Corfe
Castle are your main priorities. Jurassic Coast Discovery
adds Portland’s viewpoints and lighthouse. The Spectacular
covers more locations over a longer day and suits visitors
happy with a fuller pace.
You can book places on a shared tour without hiring
the whole vehicle. Choose your date and number of guests
on the relevant tour page to see availability. If you
are unsure which experience suits you,
contact our team.
Guided tours combine commentary and introductions with
time to explore independently. Your guide explains the
arrangements and when to meet again. Some other products
operate as transfers or free-time experiences, so check
the description of the tour you choose.
Yes. Shared tours require a minimum number to operate.
If we cancel because that minimum is not reached,
you will receive a full refund. See our

Start with our
Portland cruise excursions.
They have joining arrangements designed for cruise
visitors. Do not assume a Weymouth day-tour departure
will fit your ship’s times; contact us if you need
help choosing.
You do not need to be looking for a hiking holiday,
but coastal sightseeing can involve uneven ground,
slopes and steps. Walking demands vary by stop and
itinerary. Please discuss any mobility concerns with
us before booking; we can explain the options without
promising that every location will suit everyone.
Pick the route that fits your interests, check the
available dates, and leave the driving between Dorset’s
landmarks to us.
