Starting time & location: Portland Castle

9:30am – Portland Castle Meeting Point

Portland Port is a working commercial port and they do not allow you to roam freely. 

Please take the free shuttle bus from the port to Portland Castle, where we will be waiting to welcome you as you step off the shuttle. The journey takes only around three minutes and is very straightforward.

Please note: if your ship arrives later than 9:30am, we will adjust the tour to fit your actual arrival and departure times, so there is no need to worry.

Here you’ll have free time to visit the magical ancient site of Stonehenge World Heritage Site. Learn about the millennia of use that created Stonehenge as we see it today. Fortress, calendar, temple or hospital? You decide!

Salisbury Cathedral

Explore the historic city and market town of Salisbury that grew up around the cathedral. Visit Salisbury Cathedral, built in 1220, the tallest and most beautiful church building in Britain. Within the Cathedral view the best preserved copy of the Magna Carta, the medieval document written in 1215, that forms the foundation of the rule of law and many countries’ constitutions.

More than 48 hours’ notice before the tour: 100% refund
Less than 48 hours’ notice before the tour: No refund

No refunds will be issued for cancellations made after the scheduled departure time.

In the event that your ship is unable to dock due to bad weather or an itinerary change, you will be entitled to a full refund.

Frequently asked questions

Do we book Stonehenge tickets?

We generally advise against pre-purchasing Stonehenge tickets, as they are non-refundable. For example, if you are unable to make the tour, your ship misses port, or we are unable to operate the tour for any reason, your Stonehenge tickets would not be refunded by English Heritage.

All attraction tickets can be purchased at the gate on the day without issue. Stonehenge never "run out" of tickets on the day.

Please be aware, that during mid season there maybe lines to get your tickets.

For those that choose to pre-purchase tickets, please note that this is done at your own risk.

Salisbury Cathedral
For Salisbury Cathedral, there is no need to purchase tickets in advance; they are readily available at the door upon your arrival.

All of our tours are carefully planned around your ship’s arrival and departure times. If your ship arrives later or the schedule changes, we will adjust the tour times accordingly.

Finding Us at Portland Port
Portland Port is a working commercial port, so guests are not permitted to walk around independently. A complimentary shuttle bus operates during cruise hours.

Where to Meet us?
We meet at historic Portland Castle, which is located just outside the main port gates.

How to Get There?
After leaving your ship, simply take the free blue shuttle bus. The journey takes approximately 3 minutes and drops you close to Portland Castle, where we will be waiting to welcome you.

Do you have minimum group numbers?

Yes.

Like many small tour companies, we do require a minimum number of passengers to run any of our tours.

If the number of passengers is not met you will be notified around 72 hours before your tour departure and offered an alternative date. *Subject to availability.

If we need to cancel your tour due to insufficient numbers, you will be refunded in full.

Mobility & Accessibility

Our tours vary depending on the locations and sites visited, and some may be more suitable than others depending on individual mobility needs. Please note that some walking is necessary to access certain sites along the Jurassic Coast.
