Morning: Departure and Glastonbury

  • Begin your day with a departure from Lyme Regis or West Bay.
  • First stop: Glastonbury, known for its spiritual significance and the legendary Glastonbury Abbey. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours from Lyme Regis/West Bay.
  • Explore the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey, believed to be the resting place of King Arthur.
  • Visit the Glastonbury Tor, a hill associated with mythology and offering panoramic views of the Somerset countryside.

Lunch Break

  • Enjoy lunch in one of Glastonbury’s quaint cafes or restaurants, sampling local Somerset fare.

Afternoon: Bath and Castle Combe

  • Post-lunch, drive to the historic city of Bath, approximately 1 hour from Glastonbury.
  • In Bath, visit the Roman Baths and admire the stunning Georgian architecture, including the Royal Crescent.
  • Spend some time exploring Bath Abbey and the charming streets of Bath, rich in history and culture.
  • Conclude the afternoon with a visit to Castle Combe, about a 45-minute drive from Bath.

Return Journey

This approach provides a more personal experience, enabling you to delve deeper into the sites and attractions that most captivate you. Additionally, Bath is well-equipped with comprehensive signage and information points, making it an ideal location for self-guided discovery.
