THINGS TO DO IN BATH

Explore Bath

Depart Portland Castle (by the Port)

Meet and greet your guide and fellow passengers for the day ahead on the Jurassic Coast. Your guide will explain how the day will work and go through the latest Covid safety measures.

Bath City

You won’t have to look far to find things to do in Bath as the city is famously full of attractions and activities. In many ways, Bath hasn’t changed much since the times of Georgian gentleman Ralph Allen and writer Jane Austen, both of whom fell under the spell of this city built for pleasure. Below are just some of the things you can do in Bath.

The Royal Crescent

A sweeping arc of Georgian town-houses made from warm, honey-coloured stone and fronted by expansive green lawns, it was designed by John Wood the Younger to give well-off residents the feel of country living in the heart of the city. Mission accomplished.

Pulteney Bridge

Inspired by Ponte Vecchio in Florence and lined by shops on both sides, it is one of only four such structures in the world. Viewed from across the river, the bridge’s elegant arches are complemented by the curved cascades of the weir just downstream (it looks particularly magical lit up at night).

Bath Abbey

Take the Bath Abbey Tower Tour to see the different, working side of this iconic landmark. Ascend 212 steps to the top, and you will climb past the ringing chamber to the bell chamber, to have the chance to stand above the Abbey’s vaulted ceiling and sit behind the clock face. Once you reach the roof, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views over the city and surrounding countryside.
